Starting out? One for the girls….

New to the world of sex toys?  Don’t know one end of a dual stimulator from the other?  Don’t worry girls, we’ll give you some pointers to get you started!

Many sex toys are now USB rechargeable, although you can get battery operated toys.  Don’t shy away from those that take batteries – many of the USB charged devices (with internal batteries but sealed units) give very powerful pulses which can be a bit much if you’re not used to them.  In contrast, there are dial controlled battery operated vibrators on the market which allow you to be in complete control of the speed, so you can start slow with a continuous vibration, ramping up the speed on a single dial to see what works best for you.

Another point to think about is whether it’s clitoral, or vaginal, stimulation, or both, that you’re after.  If you haven’t experienced a toy with vibrational pulses on your clitoris before, then our advice would be to start slow and gently.  Again, start with a battery operated vibrator that has no more than a couple of controls, so that you can really gauge what works for you.  Magic wand vibrators (or microphone vibes, as we think of them) are for external use only, and can be manoeuvred into place with their slightly flexible head.  The one we’ve suggested here is a good starter, and has a number of different speeds and pulse patterns for you to experiment with.
